Yesterday we woke up to a steady wind blowing across Lake Seminole. We also found we had hundreds of little visitors in the camper. Black ants made their way into the camper overnight and we spent the next hour or so getting the little nuisances out! Once we were packed up and ready to go, Dave got his stunt kite out and spent some time flying it with the kids. It was the perfect morning for kites; the sun was shining and the wind was blowing and all our neighboring campers had already left their sites. Just before we left, I noticed something floating in the lake close to shore. As I approached, I realized it was a huge gator! I stood and watched this creature float in the chop. It was quite a sight. The next thing I knew two Canadian geese hit the water five feet from the gator. They landed with such impact and began splashing an squawking, trying to scare the gator away. Eventually, they got out of the water and stood on the bank protectively watching the mother goose as she sat on the eggs. I think if we wouldn't have been there to keep the gator off the shore, it would have been a very different scenerio.
