Where the Water Meets

I am sitting here looking across beautiful Lake Seminole.  We are in Georgia currently, but just a short paddle across the lake and we are back in Florida.  The top of the campground is on eastern standard time and the bottom of the campground is an hour earlier.  It is a strange meeting of different times, states, and worlds.  It is where the Chattahoochee and Flint Rivers flow in and the Apalachicola River  flows out.

This morning I paddled my kayak out among the gators.  They have no interest in us and simply submerge themselves and swim off.  It's still somewhat unnerving to know they are right there.  The lake is very clear, but nothing like the water of the Rainbow River.  It's not very deep and there are grasses and lily-pads everywhere.  This is the first day we've had since the Keys where we've truly just had some down time to relax.  The entire trip has been amazing, but with only being at some places a day or two, we feel the need to constantly be seeing or doing something.  Today, we are just campers enjoying the beauty around us.
